MPLUSPLUS Bring Flying Screens to Life with their LED Vision

MPLUSPLUS Co., Ltd. and dox inc. have teamed up to unveil the “LED VISION DRONE,” an extension of visual expression through DRONE. This creative collaboration utilizes technology to pursue new forms of artistic expression.

The “FlyingVision” project, announced in 2018 ( https://www.mplpl.com/project/211/ ), reproduced images by attaching LEDs to the outer perimeter of the aircraft. However, it was not possible to attach LEDs larger than the aircraft itself. In their latest endeavor, the “LED VISION DRONE,” they have suspended a flexible cloth panel with LEDs underneath the aircraft within the permissible weight limit, enabling even more dynamic visual expressions.

The cloth display of the LED portion unveiled this time measures 2.6 meters wide and 6.8 meters long, incorporating a full-color LED array of 17,280 units. The specifications of the attached LEDs, as well as the wireless LED control devices and batteries, are all designed and manufactured in-house. The LED screen can be customized not only in terms of size and LED pitch but also in shape, allowing for various forms such as humanoid figures or product silhouettes based on specific requests.

dox inc has developed an original drone with a motor diagonal size of 2 meters, a weight of 50 kg, a payload capacity of approximately 100 kg, a flight time of around 10 minutes, and a top speed of 65 km/h.

MPLUSPLUS、LED Visionで空飛ぶスクリーンを実現！

ドローンで新しいタイプのダイナミックな映像表現を可能に。

テクノロジーを駆使し新たな表現を追求するクリエイティブ集団、 エムプラスプラス株式会社と株式会社ドックスがタッグを組み、 ドローンによる映像表現を拡張した「LED VISION DRONE」を公開しました。

2018年に発表した「FlyingVision（ https://www.mplpl.com/project/211/ ）」は、 ドローンの機体の外周にLEDを装着し、映像を出力していましたが、機体以上の大きさのLEDを装着することはできませんでした。第二弾となる今回の「LED VISION DRONE」は、機体の下部に積載可能な重量の範囲でLEDが装着された布製のディスプレイを吊り下げ、よりダイナミックな映像表現を可能にしました。

今回発表したLEDの布ディスプレイのサイズは縦6.8m横2.6mで、フルカラーLED17,280個を搭載。 取り付けたLEDの仕様をはじめ、無線LED制御デバイス、バッテリーなど全て自社で設計・製作しています。今回製作した布ディスプレイ以上の大きさや、より細かいLEDピッチでの製作も可能です。また、形状をカスタマイズすることも可能で、人型や商品のシルエットをかたどった空飛ぶディスプレイを製作することができます。

株式会社ドックスがオリジナルで製作したドローンはサイズがモーター対角2m、機体重量50kg、耐荷重約100kg、フライト時間約10分、最高速度65km/hの大型機体。
